Ward 21 - Science Class
The second in a series of features on our Rinse FM show that we like to call Science Class, where we focus on the work of top producers aka musical scientists. Time to get out the notepad and pen!
On Thursday 7th May we showcased the work of genius producer/MC crew Ward 21, starting off with five new tracks that see them experimenting with the sounds of dubstep and electro.
Apparently Electrocution was made in Ward 21's hotel room after they had been to a techno night in Italy. It's not a great tune but it's interesting to hear them taking on European rave influences. And their 140bpm dubstep-style productions like Bang Bang and Dubby Man are heavy, perfectly suiting their deep, fast chat flows.
We also featured their recent Mad Ting riddim (including vocals by Timberlee and Bibi Gardener) alongside classic tracks Bloodstain and Petrol from their first and second albums respectively.
