Things Change
Released on 12" vinyl by Soul Jazz Records in March 2008, alongside the instrumental and a remix by DJ C.
The first vocal cut on our Piano riddim, featuring a lyric by Jamaican MC Warrior Queen about the struggles of coming to London and carving out a life and career here in the UK.
This is the first in a cracking line-up of cuts on the Piano riddim, with hot vocals from Riko and Rubi Dan coming out on our own label in March. Things Change also features on our forthcoming compilation for Soul Jazz, An England Story, a history of UK MC culture showcasing an incredible array of dancehall, reggae, hip hop and grime artists over the last 25 years.

- "Warrior Queen sounds almost like she doesn’t have to try to be brilliant here; she’s a born natural. She holds attention with a super-catchy riff on her move from Jamaica to London, but the real revelation here is The Heatwave’s debut production; the self-explanatory Piano riddim is a colourful and danceable joy" - Simon Hampson (FACT)
