Live at Bestival 2006

We played at Rob Da Bank's brilliant late summer Bestival weekender for the first time in 2006 - here's an excerpt from what turned out to be a mammoth set... When we arrived at the Bollywood Bar at about 5pm on the Friday, the sun was blazing and the tent was completely rammed. However, just after Terry Hall of The Specials started to play, the generator that powered the soundsystem began to cut out every few minutes. After nearly an hour of this, the tent had emptied out completely and Terry Hall was understandably fed up with it all...

Fortunately for us, the system spluttered back to life shortly before we were due to start anyway (6.30pm), and we began playing to an empty tent... Things quickly picked up once the crowd outside in the sun realised the music was back on for good, and by the time we dropped our dancehall blends of Lily Allen's massive summer anthem, LDN, the crowd was going crazy once again.

The DJ due on after us, Jazzanova, was also beset by problems, namely that his record box had got lost somewhere at Heathrow airport! So we ended up playing for nearly three hours - here's the best 78 minutes of that set, featuring reggae, dancehall/ragga, reggaeton, soca, hip hop, jungle and ska... Enjoy!
